New The Connection Machine album - pre-order now!
Downtempo techno stars The Connection Machine return with a stunning re-release, featuring rare and unreleased tracks and a Legowelt remix.
Combining old and newer material, the luxuriously put together BlackHole+ offers fans and newcomers alike a comprehensive view of a group that made dance music history, considered to be pioneers of the Downtempo genre
BlackHole+ brings almost all tracks of the original release from 1995, including everyone's favorite Echoes From Tau Ceti, that gets a delightful the remix treatment from Dutch producer and longtime fan of the group Legowelt.
After a couple other releases including a 12"on Detroit’s Planet E label, the elusive duo went on hiatus for over a decade. This special release features two B-besides from a vinyl-only split with Lost Trax, originally released on Tabernacle Records and highly sought after by collectors. Tracks such as the darker Evil Earth, grainy dub delight Keen [on Life], and the enchanting After showcase their unbridled, continued creativity. The Connection Machine’s brilliance lies in creating complex, unexpected tracks that are equally suitable for dancefloor and at-home listening, sounding just as fresh now as they did almost 30 years ago.
This reissue has been conceived as a special treat for fans, the track selection varying across the three available formats. The CD contains two entirely new songs, while the highly limited cassette run incorporates a full 13 minute version of 8 Minutes and a newly unearthed track from a ‘90s VHS tape.
